About Millie

Millie Chaplin, a native of the SC low country, is known as “The Princess of Possum Corner” in the storytelling world. She discovered the beautiful sound of the mountain dulcimer in the ‘80’s. Born and reared in the Lowcountry of South Carolina, Millie loves to share stories from all cultures. Millie loves to sing the old traditional songs that children of old grew up hearing. You might hear Jacktales along with an Anansi Tale. Millie believes in “fun for all”.

She loves the folk music of the British Isles and surrounding areas. Her programs include a mixture of songs from many eras. She may pair a classical piece with an Irish Air or a fiddle tune with something from the sixties. She loves the haunting love songs of the sixteenth century which she presents a cappella.
